Opened in Pineville, Louisiana in 1972, Harlow’s Bakery is a family owned and operated business. Owner and Manager Roy W. Burr, Sr. purchased the established business in 1984 from the original owner, Frank Dyson. Because Harlow’s was already a well-established business and enjoyed a good reputation in the area, we determined to keep the name. Harlow's is a family business in the true meaning of the word. My wife, son and daughter are all a part of daily operations as well as several other valued employees. Together with our other employees who have become our extended family, we work together to make our business a success.
A major part of the success enjoyed by Harlow’s is that our business is family oriented and caters to the individual rather than the masses. We are proud that we have been named by the Travelocity website as one of the “Big Finds” in Louisiana because of the unique nature and atmosphere of our store. The atmosphere reflects a pleasant blend of the personalities of our customers and is totally relaxed. Our morning crowd consists of our regular donut and pastry customers along with some early pick-ups for offices, schools, hospitals and businesses. Our reputation for excellence in quality has spread throughout the central Louisiana area and we have customers from surrounding towns who drive into Pineville for our breakfast items as well as our cakes and specialty items. Our coffee shop is a popular meeting place for friends, and our clientele ranges from high school student and the retired group mentioned in the Travelocity website to the professors and students from nearby Louisiana College.
